***********************************************

1-DATA ENTRY
Use [Window|Data] to switch to the data page. Navigate data cells by mouse clicking or by using the cursor keys. Type the digits to enter values into the selected cell. Use the backspace to remove one digit and [Edit|Delete] to remove the entire cell contents. If more data cells are needed click [Edit|Add Cells]. This adds 10 rows each time it is clicked. Use the vertical scrool bar to display additional rows.

2-EDIT COPY and PASTE
The [Edit] menu item on the data page provides for copying and pasting. The [Edit|Copy Cell] copies just the selected cell. The [Edit|Copy Column] copies the data in the elected column starting at the selected row and moving to the end of the column. The [Edit|Copy All] copies all the X,Y1,Y2,Y3 and Y4 data values to the Windows clipboard. The [Edit|Paste] pastes single values or blocks of data into the mini spreadsheet. The data is pasted into the cells starting at the position of the selected cell. Blocks can be transferred to the cells from other programs such as Microsoft Excel. The [Delete] key and the [Edit|Delete Cell] menu item both perform the same function. They delete the value of the selected cell. [Edit|Delete Column] deletes the values in the selected column starting at the selected row and moving to the end of the column.

3-VIEWING GRAPH and AUTO
After entering or loading data use [Windows|Graph] to view the graph or use [Windows|Settings] to manually set graph scales and grids. If you go directly to [Windows|Graph] lick [Auto] to automatically set scales and grids. If you can not see your data on the graph click [Auto]. [Auto] sets the scales so that all data points fall into the range of the graph. After using [Auto] you may manually fine tune the values of the scales and grids using the settings page. You can also change the scale display format on the settings page. For example to show more digits change 3 to 3.0 or 6.0 to 6.00 or to force scientific notation change 2100000 to 2.1E+6.

4-PRINT GRAPH
The [File|Print Graph] menu item is available only on the graph page. Use it to print the currently displayed graph.

5-SAVE VIN FILES
Graph data and settings can be saved using [File|Save]. The VIN type files generated have an extension of [.vin]. These can be produced and read by both Vinny Graph for the Pocket PC and by Vinny DeskGraph. No file translation is required. Use [File|New] to clear all data and to set graph settings to their default values.

6-OPEN VIN FILES or GRA FILES
The [File|Open] provides for loading VIN files or GRA files. Clicking on [File|Open] displays the open file dialog box. Select VIN or GRA graph file type at the botton of the dialog box. Enter the desired file name to be retrieved and click [OK]. File extensions are added automatically. The GRA files generated by the desktop program Vinny Graphics version 2.02 for scientists and engineers can be loaded with no conversion. However data is automatically truncated as required to aline with the current Vinny Graph v4.0 Pocket PC capabilities. In some cases you may have to click [AUTO] to resetthe scale format.

7-SAVE AS GRAPH IMAGE or GRA FILE
The [File|Save As] menu item is available only on the graph page. It can be used to save graph images as a bitmap [.bmp] or to create a Vinny Graphics v2.02 [.gra] file. licking on [File|Save As] displays the save as dialog box. Select BMP or GRA graph type at the botton of the dialog box. Enter the desired name for the file and click [OK]. File extensions are added automatically. The GRA file produced can be read directly by the desktop program Vinny Graphics version 2.02 for scientists and engineers.

8-VIN FILE SYNHCRONIZATION WITH POCKET PC
The first time you save or open a VIN file the dialog box will be set to the folder My Documents. Click the down arrow just to the left of the words My Documents and you will see the synchronization folder for your pocket PC. The sync folder name starts with the name of your pocket PC and ends with the words My Documents. Select the sync folder and then select the personal folder. You should see the VIN demo files in this folder. Save and load all you VIN files in this folder and they will be automatically synchronized with your pocket PC.

9-SETTINGS
The [Window|Settings] page allows selection of the graph type for all data sets. Mouse click the desired radio buttons. Graph options include points, lines, bars and linear, 2nd order, 3rd order, 4th order, 5th order, exponential and power regression fits. Click [Auto] to set the scale values for Xmax, Xmin, Ymax and Ymin [Auto] also sets XY grid values. Modify these initial settings as desired. The numeric format and decimal digits for the intermediate scale values are set by the user input max and min scale values. If data values are changed you may want to rerun [Auto]. Edit graph titles as desired.

ADVANCED OPTIONS

10-INTERPOLATE and REGRESSION
The [Window|Interpolate] estimates values of Y given X and allows selection of the best regression fits. First select the radio button for data set Y1,Y2,Y3 or Y4. Input ndividual X values in the top text box. Click [Interpolate] to estimate corresponding values for Y. Both a straight line and a curve fit estimate are provided. Click the desired regression type to change the curve fit equation. Use the coefficient of determination to select the best fit. The best values are less then but nearest to one(1). Click [Copy Y Estimates] to copy estimated Y values and [Copy Coefficients] to copy regression coefficients to the Windows clipboard. Note the current [Graph] "type" is automatically switched to the selected regression equation.

11-SCIENTIFIC NOTATION
You can use scientific notation entering data into data cells. For example the following data values are acceptable entries on the data page: -1.2792e+23 or 5E6 or 22.7e-33 or +7.1E22. You can also use scientific notation when manually entering data values for Xmax, Xmin, Ymax and Ymin on the settings page. If scientific notation is used for max or min axis values, the rest of that axis scale values will be in scientific notation.

12-MATH OPERATIONS
The [Math] menu item on the data page opens and closes a user math operation constant "K". The constant can be added to the selected column values or it can multiply the selected column values. The following 4 steps outline the use of math operations:

(1)-Mouse click menu item [Math|K + Column] for adding or [Math|K * Column] for multiplying. Hint: You can use negative K values to subtract and reciprocal values to divide.

(2)-Input a constant value "K" into the upper right text box.

(3)-Click the desired column to set starting row for the math operation. CAUTION: This step is very critical.

(4)-Click the [K */+ Column] button in upper left corner to perform the indicated math operation on selected column, starting at the selected row, and automatically moving downward to the end of the column.
